Bi-Giwen: Coming Home, Truth Telling From The Sixties Scoop

May 11, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Free

The Sixties Scoop Indigenous Society of Alberta” (SSISA), in partnership with the Cranbrook History Centre and the Cranbrook Public Library is bringing the Bi-Giwen: Coming Home – Truth Telling from the Sixties Scoop exhibition to BC communities. This first of its kind exhibit shares the experiences of survivors, including twelve personal testimonials of strength and resilience of Indigenous children taken from their families -often by force. Theses children were fostered and/or adopted into non-Indigenous homes, away from their communities, and placed across the globe.

The Cranbrook History Centre and Cranbrook Public Library, in partnership with the Sixties Scoop Indigenous Society of Alberta, will host this powerful exhibit May 11, 2022 from 10am until 5pm.

A short opening ceremony and unveiling will be held at 10am. All are welcome to attend.
