Children Birthday Parties
All children’s birthdays at the Cranbrook History Centre are 2 hours long and will include a staff member to facilitate the adventure for the first hour. After an hour of progromming, your group will have an hour to enjoy cake and presents. We can accommodate up to 15 children per party.
When – Birthdays can only be booked for Saturdays.
Time – 10:30 am – 12:30 pm or 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm
* The organizer can arrive up to 30 minutes before the party.
Price – $150 +tax
NEW! Out of this World (Space) Party – This limited time (Feb. 1- April 19, 2025) package features a constellation craft and space-themed game followed by a guided exploration through the Health in Space travelling exhibit.
Paleo Birthday Bash – This package includes fun and games within our Paleontology Exhibit. Enjoy making a dino craft, pinning the tail on the dino, and breaking rocks to find fossils to bring home.
The Royal Party – This package includes decorating a crown and then taking a fun journey through the Cranbrook History Centre to find the hidden treasure (an invitation to a ball room dance in a historic, first-class railcar of the Trans Canada Limited)! This package encourages guests to dress up in their favourite princess/royal outfits from home.
Off the Rails (Train) Party – This package includes an escape train game on the Trans Canada Limited set of train cars. This tour differs from our regular Trans Canada Limited tour as it is based less on information and more on exploring the cars (looking for hidden objects and clues) and fun facts about rail travel in 1929. This scavenger hunt is tailored towards the age group of the party guests. Finally, you can head up to our historic Argyle Dining Car for cake and gift opening.
Movie on a Train Car – The Package features a scavenger hunt on the way to our historic baggage car for the screening of a movie of your choosing with popcorn and a juice box. All of your party activities will be taking place within the baggage car including the cake and gift opening. If you would like additional comfortable floor seating, we do ask that you bring any desired pillows or blankets with you.
Adult Birthday Parties
Do to popular demand we now have birthday parties aimed at adults. All adult birthdays at the Cranbrook History Centre are 3 hours long and include a staff member to facilitate the evening. We can accommodate up to 15 guests per party.
When – Birthdays can only be booked for Fridays.
Time – 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Price – $250 + Tax
Paleo Birthday Bash – This package includes fun and games within our Paleontology Exhibit. From pinning the tail on the dino to breaking rocks to find fossils, live out a childhood dream by becoming a paleo expert… or beginner.
The Royal Party – This package includes decorating a crown and then taking a fun journey through the Cranbrook History Centre to find the hidden treasure (an invitation to a ball room dance in a historic, first-class railcar of the Trans Canada Limited)! This package encourages guests to dress up in their favourite princess/royal outfits from home. The party will be located within our Palm Court where cake, gifts and additional activities will take place.
River Rouge Speak Easy – This package involves an evening gathering on board our restored lounge car. This package encourages people to dress up and gives you a feel of high society back in the 1920s. Bring the “drinks” and we will provide the space so the fuzz won’t stop this train.
