Latin American Immigration in the Kootenays

Mi nombre es Fernanda Fernández. Soy la Asistente de Programación y Archivos en el Cranbrook History Centre. Actualmente llevo a cabo una investigación sobre inmigración latinoamericana en la región de Kootenay. El CHC tiene como propósito vincular diversas comunidades en British Columbia a través de la historia. Poco se ha escrito sobre la experiencia de las personas de América Latina que se han establecido en esta región. Como mujer inmigrante y latinoamericana sé algo sobre los beneficios y las dificultades de vivir en esta área de BC. A fin de documentar esa parte de la historia de los Kootenays quisiéramos escuchar sus voces. El cuestionario toma unos 15 min. ¡Gracias!

My name is Fernanda Fernandez, and I am the Program and Archives Assistant at the Cranbrook History Centre. I am conducting a research study about Latin American immigrants living in the Kootenays. CHC is committed to engaging different communities through history. Little has been written about the experience of people from Latin America who have settled in the Kootenays. Being a Latin American woman myself, I know about the perks and the hardships of living in this area of British Columbia. In an effort to document this part of the Kootenay’s history, we would like to hear your story. It will take approximately 15 min. Thank you!
