It is entirely up to you how much time you would like to give to the Centre and your support is always greatly appreciate.
Volunteers with our Junior Paleontology Program assist our museum educators in leading engaging, active and educational activities for two different age groups. Come join us as we help them discover the trilobites that lived in the Kootenays 250 million years ago, reveal fossils in shale rock and make fun summer memories!
The program runs every Saturday from July 11 to August 29, and volunteers must be available from 10-12 (ages 6-8) or from 12:30-3 (ages 9-12). depending on the times for which you are signed up.
Volunteers must also attend an orientation and training session on July 4 from 10am-11am.
Historic Cranbrook Walking Tour
Every Thursday evening through the August and September, the Cranbrook History Centre will be offering a walking tour of historic downtown Cranbrook. If you love history and being outside in our beautiful downtown, join our staff and share your own stories of Cranbrook with visitors and locals.
Training and orientation for this role will take place the last week of July, 2020.
Our historic wild roses can get a bit too wild during the summer months. Light weeding and pruning are all part of keeping the museum grounds looking healthy and neat, and are part of the volunteer gardening role. All tools and protective equipment are provided. All you need to bring is your sunscreen, hat and enthusiasm for weed removal!
