February 9 – Teachers will confirm how many projects per class may be eligible for the Regional Fair. (A survey link will be provided.)
March 2024
BCHF Online Workshop: Wrapping Up Research, How do you go from research to project? (Check back to register.)
Students design their project displays and practice interviews.
April 2024
BCHF Online Workshop: Presentation & Interviews, Preparing your student(s) to present and be interviewed. (Check back to register.)
Students present their projects in a classroom or school fair.
Teachers evaluate the projects. Teachers may use the 2023 EKHF rubric or develop their own. A 2024 Rubric is in the works! (Reminder: Teachers are responsible for their own assessments. The EKHF judges’ rubrics will remain in possession of the Cranbrook History Centre.)
May 2024 – The East Kootenay Heritage Fair
May 1– Last day for teachers to submit the selected projects (form coming soon) and the group agreement form to the Cranbrook History Centre.
Students complete the Project Summary Form to set in front of their projects at the Regional Heritage Fair (form coming soon.)
May 9 – Drop off and set up projects (3:00-5:30pm)
May 10 – East Kootenay Regional Heritage Fair (9:00am-2:25pm)
May 11 – Open House & Award Ceremony (10:00am-12:00pm)
May 11 – Students take home their projects (12:00pm). (Selected projects, with permission, will remain on display at the Cranbrook History Centre.)
May 29 – Ed Talk (6:00-7:30pm): Several students will be invited to share their projects and learning journey through a short presentation to a community audience in the Royal Alexandra Hall.
June 2024
Teachers and students complete a Feedback Survey (link to be added at a later date).
Provincial Fair delegates and the teacher chaperone register for the Provincial Fair.
