Winter Day Camp – Clowning Around: Circus Arts

February 27, 2026 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm

The circus is one of the purest and most universal forms of entertainment. The circus has become a unique art form that combines diverse disciplines such as acrobatics, juggling, contortion, music, acting and dance. It has historically reflected cultural diversity, incorporating elements from different traditions and artistic styles from around the world.

Here in Cranbrook, we have close ties to the circus through our very own Cranbrook Ed, the escaped circus elephant that put us on the map! We will learn the story of Cranbrook Ed and explore our creativity through clowning and circus arts.

Circus arts might seem like an unconventional activity for kids, but they are one of the most engaging ways to foster creativity, confidence, and physical fitness. Introducing children to circus arts can be a fun and transformative experience that leaves a lasting impact on their personal and physical growth.
