DESCRIPTION:-Last day to register tables for this event June 6th- \n  \nThe Cranbrook History Centre 3rd Annual Rock and Gem is returning on June 9 to 11\, 2023. Be sure to mark it on your calendar and book your tables now! \nVendors\, exhibitors\, mineral collectors\, rockhounds\, craftspeople who work with stone\, and artists from BC and southern Alberta are invited to participate. \n  \nShow dates and times: \nSet up will take place Thursday\, June 8th from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm and Friday\, 8:00 am – 9:30 am. \nShow Hours: \nFriday\, June 9th: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm \nSaturday\, June 10th: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm \nSunday\, June 11th: 10:00 am –3:00 pm (must be out by 6 pm) \nTable rentals are $75.00 per table for the three days (exhibitors must commit to all three days). Tables are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Your table rental includes viewing the rest of the museum; however\, train tours are an additional cost. An Exhibitors lounge will be set up. \nPlease bring your own lighting and extension cords. \nThere will be an admission fee for the public\, which will give them access to the whole museum and the show. \nIn addition to the exhibitor displays\, this show will also feature activities for the kids. \nPlease note that all displays must be free-standing. Posters and advertising materials are welcome\, but NO signs or materials of any kind can be attached to the walls due to their historical status. \n  \nRegister here

DESCRIPTION:The Cranbrook History Centre will be hosting a Trivia 80’s Night on Wednesday\, June 7th\, MC’d by our Programs and Events assistant Travis. Tickets will be $40 per team of 4. We encourage people to create teams in advance\, so make sure to give your team an awesome name!  \nThe Night will include 50 questions divided into 10 topics. These topics are Local\, Canadian\, and World History; Geography\, Nature\, Music\, Television\, Movies\, Literature\, and Railways. There will be more nights after\, with each night covering trivia themed to different decades.  \nAlso\, dress up in 80’s garb to prove you’re the best around! \nDoors open at 5:30 and the competition begins at 6.   \nThis is an alcohol event so ID is required to purchase \nRegister – OPEN!

DESCRIPTION:“40 years in the Kootenay” Things have changed and things stayed the same.  \n\n\n\n  \n\nThe presentation is about Janice‘s experiences living in Cranbrook and working in Kimberley.\nThe show features her photographs of diverse Kootenay outdoor locations\, local history\, social\, people\, and lively tales of things that happened while exploring the grand mountains around here.\n\n\n\nThe one-hour show presentation features Janice Strong and Jamie Levine’s photographs. She also looks are specific regions noting how some places have changed while others have stayed the same.\n\nJanice Strong is an award-winning outdoor and landscape photographer and the author of the popular hiking guidebooks Mountain Footsteps Hikes in the East Kootenay of southeastern BC.\n\n\n  \nEd Talks are a series of free presentations\, panels\, and workshops from invited guests in our beautiful Royal Alexandra Hall. \n\nOn the 3rd or 4th Wednesday of every month\, we will host a new speaker or set of presenters to share their knowledge of East Kootenay’s natural and local history and the skills or crafts they have honed in this region. \n\n\n\nRegistration Here!
